Cascina Feipu dei Massaretti

In the heart of the plain of Albenga, between sun-kissed rows and sea-scented hills, rises the Cascina Feipu dei Massaretti, one of Liguria's most historic and iconic wineries. 🍷

Founded by Mr and Mrs Pippo and Bice Parodi, true pioneers of Ligurian wine, this family business has brought the Pigato and other indigenous Ligurian grape varieties to international prominence, winning in 2003 the Slow Food Award for Biodiversity. 🌿

πŸ‡ The History of the Pioneers

In the 1950s, when few believed in Ligurian wine, the Parodi family began bottling and selling their wine outside the region, becoming a point of reference for oenology in the western region.
Today, the legacy continues with the new generation, which combines traditional craftsmanship and modern techniques, keeping the passion of the founders intact.

🌾 The Company Today

  • 6 hectares of vineyards between plains and hills, with sandy and calcareous soils

  • Production of approx. 70,000 bottles per year

  • A Pigato exported all the way to Japan

  • Cultivation organic and sustainable, with minimal use of pesticides

🚢 Visiting the Vineyards

During the visit, you will walk among the rows of:

  • 🍷 Granaccia - vigorous, with a Mediterranean character

🏭 The Technological Cellar

Upon entering the cellar, you will witness the β€œmagic” of the transformation from grape to wine:

  • πŸ”¬ Temperature-controlled fermentation

  • πŸ‡ Soft pressing, so as not to stress the clusters

  • ❄️ Cryomaceration, which preserves aromas and freshness

  • πŸ’§ Flotation, which naturally clarifies the wine

πŸ’‘ Curiosity: Cascina Feipu has abolished the use of fossil flours (diatoms) in filtration, for a more ecological and cleaner process.
